Questions about becoming an Ultrasound Technician?

I'm interested in becoming an Ultrasound Technician and have a few questions. About how long does it take to get certified if I go thru a trade school? What is the beginning salary? What are some of the different fields of this career? Does anyone know of any schools that offer this in Florida (preferrably St. Pete/Tampa area)?

I'd really appreciate it if anyone could help me out.
